I met up with Ashley and Allison for their Discovery Park engagement session in some…uncooperative weather.
But they rocked it anyway.
Listen, it’s Washington. Rain is rain, it happens, and your session can still be incredible. A Discovery Park engagement session gives you so much variety that you won’t know what to do with yourself. It’s a massive (534 acre), sprawling piece of land that’s got trails, trees, open spaces, bluffs, and the water. What’s not to love? It’s also the largest city park in Seattle! So, you know, less crowded, fewer people all up in your business.
Ashley and Allison got engaged after dating for only four months. When you know, you just freaking know. Their wee one, Sofia, is fully on board with the wedding and is taking her flower girl duties very seriously. She calls her two mums “mommy and mama,” although, because she is five, she switches it up on occasion. e.g., Allison is mommy but can just as easily be mama. Keeps everyone on their toes.
When I asked them what Sofia is like, Ashley and Allison looked at each other for a moment and then said, “Extra.”
Love it.
Ashley and Allison are both teachers. Teachers of young children. I could never; you’re both badasses. Through their whole session, they were both so open and relaxed with me, and so obviously into each other. The way they look at each other, hold each other, brush hair out of the way, laugh together: it made me smile so hard. They complained zero times about the rain, they danced around, and they let me dance around too. We pet dogs and stared out at the water. They followed me around as I tried to navigate via google maps (brave choice, you two). All in all, it was everything a Discovery Park engagement session should be, and I’m so grateful to these two women.
Congrats again on the engagement, my sweet baby angels xx
Want to book your own engagement session, or chat about your elopement? I’m riiiiiiight here, just for you.
