It’s weird, the things that draw people together.
After a Google search, Topher and Steve came across my website and noticed that I was really into plants. And they were like, “Hey we like her work, and we’re super into plants too.”
Only. Their plant collection more than ten times the size of mine. I’m talking over one hundred plants, kids. Their home is full of them. But in the best way. They like nothing more than to just chill out at home with their plants (and their incredible air quality). They’re currently growing redwood trees in their apartment from seed.
Yes.
Redwood trees. Forty of them.
Redwood babies! Can you imagine?! I can’t take it. The wee things are so cute. It only made sense that we shot their engagement session among the trees they love so much. Topher is patient zero when it comes to their plant situation.
Steve has taken this on wholeheartedly and is now a pro when it comes to germinating seeds and getting his coworkers “hooked on plants” too. This is quite a turn from when they first met: as they wandered around San Francisco on their first date, and Topher pointed out all the different plants they passed, Steve said they all looked the same.
Topher wondered if this was really the guy for him.
And now they’re getting maaaaarried and they’re so cute together and I love them.
They recommended the right grow lamps for me and my dark apartment, which has been crushing some of my plant dreams, and now my plants are so freaking happy again. I’m trying not to let things get too wild (yet), but I know what I’m like.
Topher and Steve want a large plot of land, a greenhouse, maybe a plant cafe. Hands up right now, who would take their hipster ass straight to this cafe and camp out there with the plants…? Me. I would.
I told them they need goats.
No need for controlled burns, and I mean…baby goats are precious.
The first time we met, we talked about prints and albums a little bit, and they said they aren’t really on social media, but that Topher bought a polaroid camera so he could have printed images instead of digital files that never get to be seen. Be still my heart. If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you know how much I love prints.
I won’t spill any beans now, but you guys. Their wedding sounds so lovely, so them. I can’t freaking wait.
Congratulations, you two xx
